Advanced Sketching Course: Black and White Tiger

As started in the previous post, I have almost finished the tiger cub drawing. While it certainly wasn't the easiest getting some of the more detailed aspects drawn in, it was also a pleasant surprise when it took me only about 2 hours or so to get 95% of the drawing done. I also could not have ever predicted how much fun this would have been, given my past experiences with animals and humans, especially faces. I think what definitely helped was having the eyes hidden, or shadowed in some sense, making it much easier to sketch.

The next drawing, while no human or animal, will be my greatest challenge yet. Just as the pyramids in the previous post were converting a a picture to drawing, this will include much of the same. Except I'm going from the scorching heat of the deserts to the gentle breeze of the ocean waters. And as any artist will tell you, water is one of the hardest challenges to overcome in a sketching piece.
