Day 34: 4 steps back, 5 steps forward

My plan for the day: I had wanted to continue with working on the UI for the character by adding in new weapons for the character to cycle through by using the scroll wheel or number pad keys, but as all projects go, sometimes there are just too many problems to overlook. What I accomplished:

What I had been doing for the past couple of days had definitely worked individually; all the different functions I had been adding along with the new animations. The problem arose when they had to work together. Often times the mouse clicks would not register when chaining together attacks, or animations would completely break down and play in weird fashions. Movement became a major problem as well, as pressing shift for some reason played the running animation, falling off of an edge didnt play the falling animation at the right times, the character often got stuck on edges in the falling animation, and so many other bugs. I believe I know the reason why all of this started happening, and it has to do with the custom animations I had created. Earlier in the project, I had created animations from scratch rather than importing them from mixamo, and perhaps somewhere in trying to make them I must have done something wrong, because lots of the functionality of the game just broke down. While this did mean I had to get rid of a lot of the progress I had made, I will still be continuing on the project and redoing the same topics again, but this time, using premade animations and researching on the topics in greater detail. I'll end up starting from creating the weapons again, and hopefully I can get a lot done much faster now that I know what went wrong. Mistakes happen, and I'll always be ready to learn from them.
